it's not as if i have a choice, so the title of this post can be a little bit misleading.
astrojuan was slated to play with THE DAWN at Lahi's first year anniversary this coming December 6 at 6Underground. we were so excited about this coz this'll be a big gig, with the chance of having Jet Pangan and Francis Brew in the audience!
last monday, my singaporean boss called in to say that i should prepare my passport and visa for a business trip to china on (guess what?) December 6-11. i'm supposed to undergo further training and attend an asia-pacific conference there... i would have been jumping on my feet if december 6 was just any other ordinary day for me but c'mon! it's a chance to play with, and impress one of the country's premier bands!
oh well...so there's my quasi-dilemma. i'm contemplating on telling my boss that i can't fly on the 6th and would like to fly on the 7th instead. the training/conference is starting on the 7th anyway; the company just wants us all in china by the 6th to settle down and establish relationships with our counterparts from the other countries. but then again, telling my boss that i can't follow the schedule may be interpreted as a lack of enthusiasm.
darn. now what?

work to live, not the otherway around. propose to your boss that you want to attend conference of course, but maybe if it can be flexible to accommodate the music. if he really says no, say that you'll be ok with it too, even if you would prefer otherwise.
??
darn, tried it but he said we have to stick to the schedule from Singapore. oh well... hopefully the trip will be worth it.
